ESTES PARK, Colo. – State wildlife authorities are looking for a poacher who killed two black bears in Estes Park.

The bears were found on two separate days, Wednesday and Thursday, in the area of Aspen Avenue, Ponderosa Drive and Morgan Street.

Estes Park town officials are concerned and will be holding a community meeting Thursday night at 6 p.m. at the Estes Park Museum to discuss the incidents.

Black bear sightings are common in the mountain town, and many residents pride themselves on the peaceful coexistence with wildlife the area is known for.

A reward is being offered for information leading to the apprehension of the suspect through Operation Game Thief at 1-877-265-6648.
