DENVER, Colo. — The Pepsi Center is getting renamed, thanks to a new partnership. So, welcome to Ball Arena.

On Thursday morning, Ball Corporation, which is based out of Broomfield, and Kroenke Sports & Entertainment (KSE) announced a global partnership across three marquee venues: Denver, Los Angeles and London. This includes the naming rights for Ball and KSE’s hometown arena in Denver, which is home to the Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche and Colorado Mammoth, as well as concerts and other entertainment.

The arena will become the Ball Arena.

According to a press release sent out early Thursday, this partnership was founded on a shared vision "to advance sustainability in sports and entertainment by strengthening in-venue aluminum recycling, providing fans with a more environmentally friendly fan experience and showcasing aluminum beverage packaging as the most sustainable choice."

Ball Corporation supplies sustainable packaging solutions for beverage, personal care and household products customers, as well as aerospace and other technologies, according to its website.

John A. Hayes, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Ball Corporation, said the company is proud to partner with KSE to advance sustainability in the three venues.

“We are committed to making recycling an easy, everyday choice for consumers by providing them with infinitely recyclable aluminum cans, bottles and cups that can be used and back on a store shelf in just 60 days, and enhancing recycling infrastructure in venues," he said. "We look forward to continuing to work with KSE to bring about positive change for years to come.”

KSE Founder and Chairman E. Stanley Kroenke said they are looking forward to unveiling Ball Arena and welcoming fans back to the arena once it is safe to do so.

This partnership will increase the sustainability efforts of the Denver arena, as well as the ones in Los Angeles and London. KSE said all cans, bottles and cups will have aluminum packaging, with a goal of "implementing a closed loop system by 2022" in Denver.

In addition, the partners will focus on educating the community on the importance of aluminum recycling.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
