Pedestrian struck, killed in light rail crash in Denver

DENVER — Denver police say a pedestrian was stuck and killed by a passing light rail train near Santa Fe Drive and West Bayaud Avenue in Denver Thursday. No other injuries were reported.

The incident prompted RTD to suspend light rail service in the area, affecting all C, D, E, F and H line trains.

A few hours later, RTD resumed service in the corridor. A shuttle service was operating between the Broadway Station to 10th & Osage during the outage.

Police closed eastbound Bayaud Avenue while the investigation is ongoing.

The victim's name, age and gender have not been released.

No other details were immediately available.
