DENVER — An officer was wounded and a male suspect shot during a police shooting in Denver’s Montbello neighborhood Tuesday night. Denver police tweeted that the officer’s injury was not due to a gunshot.

The officer and suspect were transported to the hospital. Their conditions are unknown. However, a police spokesperson said the suspect's injuries appear to be "survivable."

The shooting happened around 8 p.m. at a home in the 13900 block of E. Randolph Place. Officers were called to the home on a domestic violence complaint, according to police.

When police arrived, officers observed the male suspect threatening the female victim with a gun. Police said the officers opened fire, hitting the suspect several times. The female victim, who had called 911, was not injured.

Denver police said the investigation is ongoing and no other details will be released.
