EDGEWATER, Colo. — Novembeard is wrapping up soon. Men across the country have been growing beards to raise money for the American Cancer Society. A few men at Denver7 are taking part to raise money as well.

If you're growing a beard for the first time, maybe you plan on keeping it after Novembeard. You can take care of your new beard while supporting a local business at the same time.

Jacob Rockwell, a Colorado native, recently opened his flagship men's grooming shop, True Grit, inside the Edgewater Public Market. There is plenty of product and even space for a shave by a master barber.

"When you come in, we will educate you with every single product that we carry," Rockwell said.

Men's beard products always see a boost in popularity when Novembeard comes along each year.

"We always see an increase," Rockwell said. "A lot of people come in for tips and tricks on how to take care of their beards."

For men who are new at the game, Rockwell said you always have to start with beard oil.

"Beard oil is always the best thing to use, especially if you’re just starting to grow your beard out," Rockwell explained. "It prevents itching, flaking and all that terrible stuff that prevents people from growing beards."

Taking the extra step of caring for a growing beard can go a long way and so can supporting a local business in these crazy times.
