UPDATE (8:05 a.m.) — CBI says the 18-month-old toddler has been found safe by Aurora police. His father, Alejandro Taylor, has been taken into custody.
NORTHGLENN, Colo. — Police are asking for the public's help to find a toddler who may be with his father, who has made threats to the safety and well-being of the child.
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation issued a Endangered Missing Person Alert around 3 a.m. Monday, and then an Amber Alert at 7:20 a.m. for 18-month-old Leo Taylor.
CBI said he may be with his father, 32-year-old Alejandro Taylor. The alert reads that Alejandro has made threats to the safety of the toddler.
On Sunday at 11:40 p.m., officers with the Northglenn Police Department were dispatched to the 12200 block of Claude Court on a report of an endangered child. A woman told officers that her 18-month-old was with his father, who had called her and threatened to harm the boy. The woman said the father owns multiple firearms.
Authorities believe the father and child are traveling in a 2014 purple Chevrolet Spark with Colorado license plate 126-YIX. The vehicle has Green Bay Packers and gun stickers on the rear window.
Alejandro has ties to Northglenn, Broomfield, Aurora and Louisville, according to CBI.
Leo is about 2 feet tall and about 35 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. Alejandro is about 5 feet, 11 inches tall, 155 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes. He has a shaved hear.
