DENVER -- Denver Broncos fans will find more than just football during the 2016-2017 season.

The team has unveiled a long list of new food offerings for sale at Mile High premiering at this weekend’s pre-season home opener.

Executive Chef Christopher DeJohn began work on the new menu items shortly after the Bronco’s Super Bowl 50 victory. He described the new offerings as “global and local flavor.”

Among the new selections available in the general concession areas:

An intricate taco pizza.

Local specialty chicken sausage with Palisade, Colorado peach slaw.  DeJohn called it, "One of the favorites.

A new Greek-style Gyro. The Gyro is “going to be a winner,” said the chef. The sandwich has him “most excited.”

The pizza roll is making a comeback, with more cheese and pepperoni.  It’s a “beautiful product,” said the chef. Two rolls come per serving.

Street tacos are a “hit around town,” said the chef, who feels it will be just as popular at Mile High.

An interesting combination of Frito pies made using locally produced Schlereth’s green chili and of course, Frito chips.

Many of the ingredients used in the recipes, including meat and produce, are from local sources.

Stadium food is a “balancing act” that must be “easy to handle and carry,” said Chef DeJohn.  “How do I get it to that stand so you can buy it?” he said.

Approximately 100 chefs work on a typical game, noted DeJohn.

In addition to food offerings, fans this year will be able to drink a special beer blend, named “United in Orange Pale Ale.”

The beer will be sold at the stadium and at select Breckenridge Brewery locations.  Flavored with orange juice and orange peel, the beer has 5.5% alcohol.
