The National Western Stock Show set a record this weekend for the largest opening day attendance -- 50,654 fans.  That's increase of seven percent from last year.

The opening day line-up included three rodeo performances, a BBQ competition and other events and activities.

"What a tremendous show of support by the Denver Metro community and Stock Show fans throughout the region on this, the 110th opening day of Stock Show," said Paul Andrews, President & CEO of the National Western Stock Show.

The 2016 National Western Stock Show will continue through January 24 in Denver.

The event includes rodeos, dog shows, wild west shows, dancing horses, a petting farm, animal competitions, a trade show and more. See the event schedule and buy tickets here.
