2 Texas teens accused of using pepper spray to rob marijuana shop in Durango

DURANGO, Colo. - Two teenagers used pepper spray to rob a marijuana shop in Durango, police said.

The 17-year-old boys walked into Animas Herbal Wellness Center at about 11:30 a.m. Monday, according to the Durango Police Department.

"The two males immediately began spraying all of the employees of the business with pepper spray," police said.

The two teens grabbed a jar of medical marijuana and took off, but employees were able to give police a description of their vehicle.

Police spotted the vehicle a short time later in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn and Suites on Highway 160 West.

The teens got out and ran but officers caught them after a short foot chase.

Police said they found the stolen jar of marijuana, and well as clothing that matched the description provided by witnesses.

The suspects were identified as Morgan Levi Ford and Jordan Kyle Hurley, both of Corsicana, Texas. They are both charged with aggravated robbery of a controlled substance, a class 2 felony, and they have been booked into the Denier Youth Center.
