ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. – Fire crews discovered a marijuana grow while putting out an attic fire at an outbuilding near a home off Arapahoe Road Tuesday evening.

The fire sparked shortly before 8 p.m. Tuesday in the 6800 block of South Norfolk Street—just off the Arapahoe Road exit from Parker Road.

South Metro Fire and Rescue said the fire was in the attic of an outbuilding on the property, and that it was quickly contained without injuries.

It’s unclear if the marijuana grow was legal or not; it will be up to the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office to determine its legality.

South Metro Fire says the fire’s cause is still under investigation.
