Man wanted for questioning in Lakewood motel killing, police say

Police: Scott Lynn considered 'armed & dangerous'

LAKEWOOD, Colo. - Lakewood police are asking the public to help them find a man wanted for questioning in the killing of another man at a local motel earlier this month.

Police said they're trying to locate 32-year-old Scott Michael Lynn, who is currently wanted on a weapons-related arrest warrant out of Elbert County and "should be considered armed and dangerous."

Lakewood police spokesman Steve Davis said detectives want to question Lynn about the killing of Randy Wayne Bender at the Crosslands Economy Suites, located at 715 Kipling Street.

Police were called on the night of June 14 about shots being fired at the motel. Police agents arrived to find Bender's body in room 314. "Bender had sustained apparent gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead on scene," Davis said.

Lakewood police ask anyone who sees Lynn or knows of his whereabouts to call their local police or 911. The Lakewood Police Department also ask anyone who feels they may have any information that would assist detectives in their investigation and search for Lynn to call 303-987-7111. You can also call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867, be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000 and remain anonymous.
