BROOMFIELD, Colo. – A man accused of attacking a 79-year-old woman on a trail in Broomfield last year has pleaded guilty in the case, officials said.
Donald McMillian, 44, pleaded guilty Friday in Broomfield District Court to charges of assault of an at-risk elder, kidnapping with a deadly weapon and attempted sexual assault, according to a news release from the 17th Judicial District.
The plea agreement called for a 52-year sentence. McMillian will be formally sentenced Sept. 6.
Investigators said McMillian stabbed and assaulted the 79-year-old victim, who was walking her dog, at a pedestrian underpass at Sheridan Boulevard and Highland Park Drive in March 2018.
