EAGLE COUNTY, Colo. — A man visiting from China has been missing from the Vail area since Thursday morning and authorities are asking the public for help locating him.

On Thursday, officials in Eagle County received a notice of a missing person. The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office, Vail Police Department, Vail Resorts staff and Vail Mountain Search & Rescue started to work together to learn about the person and their whereabouts.

They have identified the missing person as Yunlong Chen, a 55-year-old man from China who was last seen around the Vail Transportation Center on Thursday morning. He was traveling alone and was at the end of his ski trip.

Information from his ski pass indicates he may have gone up the Vail Ski Mountain that morning. He was last seen wearing bright orange ski pants and a bright blue jacket.

As of Monday morning, authorities said they did not suspect foul play.

The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public's help. If anyone has information about Chen or his whereabouts, call the Eagle County Sheriff's Office at 970-328-8500 or the Vail Public Safety Communications Center to speak with the Investigations team at 970-479-2201.
