Man dies after his car, semi-truck collide on Highway 402

LOVELAND, Colo. — A man died after he tried to turn off the highway and was struck by a semi-truck on Highway 402.

On Wednesday at 6:09 p.m., the Loveland Police Department received a report of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 402 and Charlotte Court.

A preliminary investigation found that a man was driving a 1998 Dodge truck east on Highway 402 and tried to turn left to head north on Charlotte Court.

The driver turned in front of a semi-truck driving west on Highway 402 and the two vehicles crashed.

The driver of the semi, a 31-year-old from Fort Collins, was checked at the scene by paramedics. A passenger in the semi was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Dodge truck was pronounced dead at the scene.

Drugs and alcohol are not suspected in this crash.
