DENVER — A 25-year-old man has been charged with murder in the killing of another man in a motel parking lot earlier this month, authorities announced Wednesday.

Edgar Trujillo is accused of punching the victim on May 18, causing the man to fall and hit his head outside the Western Motor Inn at 47th and Vasquez Boulevard, according to a news release from the Denver District Attorney's Office.

Trujillo faces one count of second-degree murder and one count of third-degree assault.

The victim's name has not been released by officials. Trujillo was advised on his charges in court Wednesday.
