Man accused in carjacking and wild police chase west of Denver heads to court

Christopher Sullivan will be advised of charges

GOLDEN, Colo. - A man accused of hijacking one car, stealing two others and trying to take more during a wild chase west of Denver is expected in court.

Prosecutors say 37-year-old Christopher Sullivan will be advised of charges against him Wednesday in Jefferson County court.

Police say the string of thefts began when Sullivan and a 17-year-old fled a traffic stop. Over the next two hours, police say they hijacked a car, stole a pickup truck and crashed through a closed garage door in a stolen SUV.

The chase that was captured on helicopter video ended when a deputy and a passerby wrestled him to the ground on a highway.

Documents released Tuesday say Sullivan could face charges including attempted murder of a police officer. Police said he was  armed with a rifle and handgun.

Last week his bond was set at $1 million cash.

Court records do not list his attorney.
