BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. – A 24-year-old Louisville woman who was reported missing after she did not return home from a hike over the weekend was found dead Monday afternoon, according to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office.

Alana Chen was last seen in Louisville around 3 p.m. Saturday and was driving to Chautauqua Park in Boulder for a hike but never came back, prompting her family to report her as missing.

On Monday morning, the sheriff’s office received a tip from the Denver Water Board about a suspicious vehicle that was found parked in the Osprey Parking Lot at Gross Reservoir.

After running a license plate check, deputies were able to determine the vehicle was registered to Chen.

Deputies said first responders began searching the area for Chen at around 7:40 a.m. Monday. Her body was found shortly after 1 p.m.

A total of 24 personnel helped out in the search, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

The cause and manner of death will be determined by the Boulder County Coroner's Office, deputies said, adding her death was not being considered suspicious.
