Longmont police searching for suspect accused of violently beating store owner into unconsciousness

WHILE A 61-YEAR-OLD WOMAN RECOVERS FROM A VIOLENT ATTACK IN HER LONGMONT STORE, police continue to search for the suspect accused of beating her into unconsciousness. — LONGMONT, Colo. — While a woman recovers from a violent attack in her Longmont store, police continue to search for the suspect accused of assaulting her.

On Saturday around 11 a.m., a man entered a nail salon along N. Main Street in Longmont. For an unknown reason, the man then violently assaulted the 61-year-old salon owner and beat her unconscious, according to the Longmont Police Department.

The woman was seriously injured and was transported to a hospital. She moved to a rehab center on Thursday, police said.

The suspect was last seen leaving the salon through the back door around 11:34 a.m. that day. According to surveillance footage, he is Hispanic and between the ages of 20 and 30. He stands about 5 feet, 4 inches and 5 feet, 7 inches tall. At the time, he was wearing jeans, brown boots, an orange hat and a maroon or navy striped short-sleeve shirt. He has short, black hair.
