LITTLETON, Colo. – A Littleton man is searching for people he says saved his life after he passed out inside a Chipotle restaurant.
Jason Drake has Type-I diabetes. A week ago at the Chipotle on Broadway, Drake was waiting in line when he said he was suddenly hit with a headache and felt weak.
“I should have known the warning signs after being a diabetic for over 20 years,” Drake said. “Suddenly, I passed out while ordering my food.”
Drake said he does not remember much, but said he woke up to four strangers helping him up.
“They asked me if I was OK, and all I remember was telling them I am a diabetic,” Drake said.
Drake then said the strangers acted quickly by bringing him outside, and one of them went and got him a sugared drink to help him.
“One of them even asked if they needed them to drive me home,” Drake said. “I’m just thankful that I was alive to be able to drive myself home. I’m just really lucky that I wasn’t behind the wheel when this happened.”
Drake has been searching for the people who helped him in that Chipotle, and even went to Facebook on the “Word of mouth, Littleton” page asking if anyone knows he saved him in his time of need.
“I just want to tell them thank you,” Drake said. “You don’t hear about people helping others like that often.”
