Littleton firefighters respond to garage fire that threatened nearby homes

LITTLETON — Firefighters in Littleton responded to a structure and vegetation fire that threatened neighboring homes Wednesday afternoon.

Firefighters with the Littleton Fire Department and South Metro Fire Rescue arrived at a structure and vegetation fire on the 5600 block of S. Curtis Street in Littleton shortly after 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

A video posted by Littleton Fire Department shows crews extinguishing a fire near a home and in a wooded area.

One detached garage was damaged in the blaze, the fire department said.

At 2:57 p.m., the fire department reported that the fire was under control and had burned along four residential backyards. Firefighters were able to protect all the homes from the flames. It was extinguished by 3:05 p.m.

No injuries were reported. A cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
