LAKEWOOD, Colo. – Police in Lakewood are asking for the public’s help finding a man who is suspected of beating a woman unconscious and then driving off with her in his truck.

Police said Louie Leal, 26, is a fugitive wanted on unrelated charges.

Officers said they responded to the Lakewood Lodge, 5601 W. Colfax Ave., around 6:10 p.m. Wednesday after receiving a domestic violence report.

Witnesses told police Leal assaulted a woman to the point that she was left unconscious. He then put the woman in a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup and drove off, witnesses said.

The victim, identified as Vanessa Cordova, 31, is known to the suspect, police said. Detectives said Thursday afternoon that Cordova had been located. It wasn't clear if police were still searching for Leal.

Leal should be considered dangerous, police said. Anyone who spots Leal, Cordova or the pickup should call 911.
