LAKEWOOD, Colo. — Police in Lakewood are searching for a suspect after a man was shot to death in a Colfax motel early Tuesday morning.
The shooting occurred at the Blue Sky Motel, located 6205 West Colfax Avenue.
Police were called to the motel around 2:40 a.m. on reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found the victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He ultimately died of those injuries.
Lakewood police said Wednesday afternoon they had arrested a suspect, but further information was not immediately available. The victim was identified Thursday as Geronimo Alvarado, 29.
Lakewood police said Thursday that the suspect in the deadly shooting, identified as 34-year-old Julian Joel Rivera, was arrested in Castle Rock on Tuesday evening.
