LAKEWOOD, Colo. — If you have an artist in the family, let them know that the City of Lakewood is offering a $200 prize for the winning design of its 2021 Earth Day T-shirts.

Any and all hometown artists are invited to create a design for the city's annual Earth Day Celebration in 2021. Submissions must be in by Jan. 15 at 5 p.m. and should include themes of renewal and regeneration, as well as the words "Earth Day," "Lakewood" and "2021."

The winning art will be displayed on posters, T-shirts, social media posts and more, according to the city.

Artists can submit up to two designs. For details on submitting a piece, click here to visit Lakewood's website.

The City of Lakewood's Earth Day Celebration has grown over the years to become a communitywide festival that includes music, food, art, exhibits, and activities that spread environmental awareness and bring the community together, according to the city's website.

The 2020 celebration went virtual and plans for 2021 remain uncertain, but the city says it is looking forward to "celebrating with the community in the safest way possible!"
