LAKEWOOD, Colo. — A motorcycle officer with the Lakewood Police Department was seriously injured in a crash involving two other vehicles Thursday afternoon.
The crash occurred around 1 p.m. on West Colfax Avenue near the intersection of Wadsworth Boulevard.

Police tweeted that the officer was transported to the hospital in serious condition and would be undergoing surgery Thursday night, with an additional surgery scheduled for Friday. A second driver was also injured. However, the extent of their injuries is unknown.

West Colfax reopened around 5:30 p.m.
