IDAHO SPRINGS, Colo. — Drivers on I-70 may experience slight delays around noon when the Colorado Department of Transportation closes the roadway fully to blast precariously placed rocks.

Motorists will likely experience delays of 45 minutes as crews perform rockslide mitigation Thursday, closing both sides of I-70 from Fall River Road to Dumont for a minimum of 20 minutes.

Other roads near the blast site will be closed for safety precautions.

Crews say they're performing the mitigation in response to a rockslide that closed I-70 in early April.
