IDAHO SPRINGS, Colo. – Strong winds overnight knocked out power to nearly a thousand customers near Idaho Springs.

The power coop that serves the area estimates that power should be restored by 10 a.m. Wednesday.

The outage has affected schools in the area, as well.  All Clear Creek Schools will be on a two-hour delay because of the power disruption. Classes will begin at approximately 10:20 a.m.

Gusty northwest winds will continue Wednesday. Gusts of up to 60 mph will be possible in the mountains.
