BOULDER, Colo. -- Boulder authorities hope a baseball hat will lead them to the identity of a body found floating in a small pond Tuesday afternoon.

A construction worker in the 3100 block of Iris Avenue alerted police to the unidentified body.

The victim is a white male believed to be in his 20s, about 5-feet 7-inches tall, with a thin build, brown hair and brown eyes.

At the time of his death, he was wearing a red baseball hat, a white t-shirt, blue jeans and black tennis shoes. His identity is unknown.

Police have not said if they believe the death was the result of foul play. A coroner’s report, when released, is expected to reveal the cause and manner of the man's death.

The police department would like the public’s assistance with the identification of this man and/or any information as to why he was in the area between Monday evening and the time his body was discovered.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Kurt Foster at 303-441-4329.
