DENVER — Saturday is a special day in our state. It's Colorado Day! Saturday marks 144 years since the founding of the Centennial State.
Usually there's a lot going on to celebrate but clearly this is a different year. The pandemic makes all celebrations tough at the moment and this is no different.
History Colorado says they went virtual for part of Saturday's celebration and limited visitors on site to 50 entrants per half hour.
“We had the whole 12th Street blocked off. We had a huge block party. We would always do cake and things like that. It's difficult to adapt from that huge birthday blowout celebration, to a sort of a Covid-type of celebration,” History Colorado’s Jeremy Morgan said.
Happy Birthday Colorado!
