GREELEY, Colo. — A Greeley man accused of murdering a local musician and also a woman who may have been involved in the musician's death has been formally charged.
Kevin Eastman, 48, appeared in a Weld County courtroom Monday and was charged with two counts each of the following: first degree murder, tampering with a deceased body, and tampering with physical evidence. He was also charged with one count of possession of a weapon by previous offender.
Authorities are accusing Eastman of killing 53-year-old Stanley Sessions, a well-known Greeley-based trumpet player for the Colorado band The Movers and Shakers, and 48-year-old Heather Frank, who had also been under investigation in connection to Sessions death. The murders occurred earlier this month.
Sessions' body was found Feb. 10 by a snowplow driver near Old Flowers Road and Pingree Park Road, which is west of Fort Collins and south of Poudre Canyon Road. As Larimer County detectives investigated Sessions' death, they arrested Eastman on Feb. 16 at a gas station around Kersey.
Meanwhile, as Eastman sat behind bars, the Weld County Sheriff's Office and Larimer County investigators obtained a search warrant for a nearby private property in Weld County, where authorities discovered the remains of a woman, who was later identified as Frank of Greeley.
Investigators have not revealed a possible motive in any of the killings.
