DENVER -- Good morning! Here’s what you need to know today, Friday, March 30, 2018.

1. It's Good Friday and the start of Passover
Good Friday is a religious holiday commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. It’s also known as Holy Friday. Passover also begins at nightfall, celebrating the exodus of the Jewish people from slavery in Egypt some 3,000 years ago.

2. Good Friday at Denver Rescue Mission
Denver Rescue Mission and Volunteers of America partner to feed hundreds of homeless and hungry men, women and children. The Annual Easter Celebration includes a hearty meal, worship and communion, and foot washing, plus a medical exam. Each guest also receives a new pair of shoes, donated by Runner’s Roost Denver and New Balance, and a pair of socks donated by local churches.

3. Rockies lose in season opener
The Colorado Rockies fell 2-8 against the Arizona Diamondbacks Thursday night. Game two of the three-game series is tonight.

4. Blood drives for Deputy Parrish
Two blood drives are happening today to honor Deputy Zackari Parrish, who was killed in the line of duty. They're at Littleton Adventist Hospital and Centura Health Emergency and Urgent Care in Highlands Ranch from 1 to 6 p.m.

5. Warmer Friday
Friday will be warmer again with mid-60s in Denver and across the northeast plains.  The mountains will also have sunshine on Friday with highs in the mid-40s to low 50s.
