2:32 p.m. | Jefferson County authorities are evacuating Waterton Canyon after a wildfire was spotted in the area. The fire is burning in open space on the south side of Lockheed Martin, West Metro Fire officials said. There are no structures threatened at this time, firefighters said. Helicopters are attacking the flames and rain in the area is helping firefighters.
There are two helicopters working the fire south of Lockheed Martin. A weather front has moved in and it is raining in the area. There are about 50 firefighters on scene. The cause of the fire was lightning. pic.twitter.com/XKGbSd0Q8e
