7:22 p.m.: An increase in fire activity on Wednesday has forced authorities to issue an alert regarding heavy smoke in the area. The Pitkin Alert system says no structures have been threatened at this time. They ask that people do not call 911.
6:42 p.m.: The Denver Police Department is investigating an apparent drowning in the 5500 block of Worchester Street. Investigators say the victim is described as a young child.
