BOULDER, Colo. -- A reported sexual assault case on the campus of CU Boulder is heading to court on Wednesday as prosecutors will file formal charges against a former student.

According to the Boulder Daily Camera, the arrest affidavit details a case that unfolded after a drunken party. Robert St. Thomas, 22, allegedly sexually assaulted a victim in the dorms of CU Boulder after an off-campus party.

The affidavit suggests St. Thomas asked multiple times to go to the victim's room, eventually making his way there, kissing her consensually.

The victim said she declined taking things further than kissing, but woke up in bed with St. Thomas. The affidavit says St. Thomas sent the victim a message the next day apologizing for acting "rapey."

According to police, St. Thomas said he felt guilt trips about his actions, and admitted to wrongdoing.

No longer a student, St. Thomas faces charges of sexual assault overcoming a victim's will -- a Class 4 felony.

He'll appear in court on Wednesday.
