Good morning! Here are 5 Things to Know for Friday, May 18, 2018.

1. First Alert Action Day
Thunderstorms will develop in the foothills by early afternoon and then spread east through Denver and across the plains. The strongest storms will roll through Denver between 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

2. C-470 lane switch happening
The traffic configuration on eastbound C-470 was shifted to new concrete this morning, but it happened a little later than expected. Another overnight closure is set for this weekend. C-470 will be closed from Quebec to I-25 on Sunday night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday.

3. Aurora flag retirement ceremony
The Aurora Joint Honor Guard will hold a flag retiring ceremony this morning to honor the memory of Mayor Steve Hogan, who died this week after a battle with cancer. The ceremony is at 9 a.m. at the Aurora Municipal Center.

4. Hawaii bracing for more volcanic activity
Officials in Hawaii continue to warn people to stay inside following an explosive eruption on Kilauea that sent ash 30,000 feet into the air. Over the past two weeks, lava has destroyed more than two dozen homes.

5. Prince Charles to walk Meghan Markle down the aisle
Meghan Markle will be unaccompanied for much of her procession this weekend, but Prince Charles, Harry's father, will walk with her for the final section leading to the altar. Markle announced earlier this week that her own father wouldn't be able to attend.
