DENVER — Sunday, Nov. 1 marks the 25th anniversary of the peace agreement that ended the war in Bosnia.

It's one of the darkest times in the world in recent memory — marred by genocide, the death of thousands of people, and millions fleeing their country fearing for their lives.

In this half-hour special program, we take a look back through the eyes of a number of people in Colorado who witnessed the war firsthand — from the refugees who escaped to Denver, to a soldier who helped with peacekeeping, and the former DU professor who helped broker the peace agreement.

They saw a lot — things we saw a little of on TV years ago. But to everyone who lived through the experience, it's a time in history they can never forget.
