CANON CITY, Colo. — An inmate who escaped from a correctional facility in Fremont County has been re-captured.

Law enforcement officials said Robert Roberts, 22, was taken into custody at the Parkdale Quarry just outside of Canon City a little after noon on Tuesday.

Further details of his capture weren't immediately available.

Roberts reportedly escaped from the Skyline Correctional facility in Canon City on Sunday. Deputies said they realized Roberts had escaped during a 12 p.m. count of the inmates at the facility.

He was sentenced to 18 months in prison for forgery out of Fremont County and was scheduled to be released on July 23 of this year, according to a sheriff's office spokesperson.
