ENGLEWOOD, Colo. – The City of Englewood has fired a police officer after she was arrested in May on charges of sex assault and domestic violence, Contact7 Investigates has learned.

Anna McCain, 23, worked at the Englewood department for less than a year, as a patrol officer, an Englewood police spokesman told Denver7.

McCain's arrest on May 29 stemmed from an incident in March, court records said, but details about the case were not yet available Wednesday.

McCain faces three charges: sexual assault and unlawful sexual contact, both Class 4 felonies; and causing an injury as an act of domestic violence, a Class 1 misdemeanor.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office issued the warrant for McCain's arrest and took her into custody, the Englewood police spokesman said.
