BROOMFIELD, Colo. — A man was arrested after police say he physically attacked an elderly woman walking along a trail Tuesday afternoon.
According to a statement from the Broomfield Police Department, the woman was walking near the walkway/tunnel at Highland Park Drive when the man, for an unknown reason, began to physically assault her.
She was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police have not released her condition.
The suspect, whose name and age have yet to be released, was described by witnesses to police. Officers later tracked him down in the 900 block of East Midway and placed him under arrest.
At approximately 8:10 p.m., the suspect was transported to a local area hospital for undetermined medical concerns, a police statement read.
Police have not said if the victim was targeted. They say an investigation is ongoing.
