EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. — Authorities in El Paso County say they believe a shooting that left four people dead near Fort Carson on Feb. 3 was a murder-suicide.

On Feb. 3 just before 5 p.m., deputies with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office responded to the 4300 block of Loomis Avenue, near Fort Carson, after callers said they heard numerous gunshots.

When deputies arrived, they found three deceased adults. One injured adult was transported to a nearby hospital but died the following day, the sheriff's office said.

The coroner's office will release the names of the deceased individuals.

The sheriff's office's Major Crimes Unit is investigating the shooting as a domestic violence incident and as a triple homicide and suicide.
