COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Investigators with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office were at the home of a missing 11-year-old boy Monday collecting evidence, a spokesperson for the department told Denver7.

The sheriff’s office declined to explain what if any kind of evidence they recovered from the home of Gannon Stauch, who has been missing for a week. A mobile crime lab was on scene to process whatever may have been found.

"There is nothing over and nothing under about today’s search," said Jacque Kirby, a sheriff's office spokesperson.

Stauch disappeared the afternoon of Jan. 27 after he left his home in the 6000 block of Mandan Drive in Security, southeast of Colorado Springs.

The boy's stepmother, Letecia "Tecia" Stauch, said he left his home on foot to play at a friend's house down the street, according to the sheriff's office.

Authorities first classified the boy as a runaway, but his disappearance was later upgraded to a missing/endangered persons case, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation became involved. The federal agency was not involved in Monday’s search, the sheriff’s office said.

Hundreds of volunteers and law enforcement agents have been searching the area around Stauch’s home since he disappeared, but so far, there have been no reports of anything significant discovered.

The sheriff's office said Stauch takes special medication and was last seen wearing a blue jacket and jeans.

Sheriff's Office spokesperson Jacqueline Kirby stressed that people with tips should report them to their tip line – 719-520-6666.
