DENVER — If you need an emergency home repair, there's a program in Denver that offers homeowners a zero percent loan that doesn't have to be repaid until the home is sold.
It's called Emergency Home Repair, and it's administered by the Denver Urban Renewal Authority.
"EHR is designed to address one or two circumstances that really make the house unsafe," explained Tracy Huggins, the Executive Director of the Denver Urban Renewal Authority. "Whether that's not having a water heater, not having electricity up to code, having a leaky roof -- those one specific items that need to be addressed to make the home safe."
EHR is available to households making less than 50 percent of the area median income. For a family of two, that's $36,000.
