AURORA, Colo. — A diesel fuel truck crashed on its side on N. Chambers Road above Interstate 70 Thursday afternoon and about 500 gallons of fuel spilled, authorities said.
I-70 traffic is not impacted by the crash, but the eastbound ramp off of the highway onto Chambers Road has closed, police said. Chambers Road from E. 38th Avenue to E. 40th Avenue is closed in both directions.
A Hazmat team estimated that 500 gallons of fuel had spilled, according to the Aurora Fire Department. The team had stopped the fuel leak as of 12:20 p.m.
The driver was able to climb out and was not injured, the fire department said. The driver will be cited, according to police.
The road had reopened by Thursday evening.
