DENVER — Event organizers announced Thursday more details about a controversial three-day music festival at a historic Denver golf course — and it's a doozy!

The festival will be called Grandoozy, and it will be held at Overland Park Golf Course this September 14, 15 and 16.

Organizers of the festival, AEG and Superfly, faced resistance from neighboring residents when they first approached the city. The top concerns were the lack of parking and potential damage to the 100+-year-old course.

However, an agreement between city officials and the two companies addressed many of the issues residents were concerned about.

AEG and Superfly will be required to provide a transportation and parking plan. It would emphasize the use of public transit shuttles, bike sharing and ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft. Neighbors would also have access to a 24-hour hotline where they could call in concerns about parking or other impacts.

With those issues presumably resolved, plans moved forward for the large-scale festival, and on Thursday Superfly provided the community a sneak peek at its vision for Grandoozy.

The three-day, multi-stage event will feature both world-class and local artists and musicians from a variety of genres as well as offer an array of Culinary, Craft Beer, Cocktail, Art and Outdoor experiences to mirror Denver’s rich cultural scene, a news release from Superfly read.

The full lineup is expected to be released March 20.

Superfly, which has launched similar festivals in other cities across the country, chose Denver for it latest event because of the city’s “vibrant culture.”

"Our interest in producing a landmark festival in Denver was born out of spending years getting to know the city and local community and diving head first into its flourishing cultural scene. Superfly’s expertise in producing large-scale immersive festivals, paired with Denver's distinct and unique personality, is the perfect match for creating Grandoozy, a one of a kind experience that we hope becomes a source of pride and celebration for this amazing city,” said Jonathan Mayers, Co-founder, Superfly.
