DENVER — When it's time to unwind after work and on weekends, craft beers get the most attention in Colorado.

But some people enjoy a nice glass of wine every once in a while, and a Denver-based organic wine is specifically designed for the occasional glass but bottled to blend elegance into any setting.

Dana Spaulding took a page out of her own life when she created Wander + Ivy wines.

“I love when my husband wants to have one glass of red, while we're having a steak dinner,” Spaulding said. “I want a glass of white. It's perfect for that scenario.”

However, a glass or two leaves the rest of a traditional bottle of wine to spoil after few days.

“We were wasting bottles, especially during the week,” Spaulding said.

So Wander + Ivy is conveniently packaged for single servings.

“We just started searching in the single-serve wine aisle for us personally,” Spaulding said. “And I just found that what existed in the market was pretty low-quality wines in cheaper packaging like cans, boxes, and bags.”

Wander + Ivy currently offers four varietals — a cabernet, red blend, rose, and sauvignon blanc, all made from certified organic grapes selected from family-owned vineyards around the world.

“It's really a long research and tasting process that we go through to really narrow down into the varietals that we ultimately select,” Spaulding said.

Spaulding became a certified sommelier before starting the business, which only began in 2018.

They're already available in more than one hundred retail stores in Colorado, California, New York, and Pennsylvania.

“The end of last year, before the holidays, we launched our direct-to-consumer,” Spaulding said. “So not only can you find it in store, but you can go online and have it shipped to your door. And we ship to over 40 states.”

She said the goal is to let you indulge in a quality drink at a pace that pairs well with our busy lives.

Wander + Ivy also has a wine club and is available in gift boxes.
