DENVER – Police are searching for a suspect who drove off after colliding with a motorcyclist in lower downtown Denver early Friday.

The crash occurred at the intersection of 20th and Market streets a little after 2 a.m. Police said the motorcyclist tried to pass a black Jaguar on the left as the car attempted to make a left turn and the two vehicles collided. The driver then left the scene, according to police.

The motorcyclist was taken to an area hospital with injuries that police described as serious but not life-threatening.

Police said the suspect’s vehicle should have damage to the driver’s side.

Officers were unable to get a full license plate number but the plates have the letters “QJE” in them.

Anyone with information on this case should call 911.
