Denver police investigate double homicide in Montbello neighborhood

DENVER — Police in Denver are investigating a double homicide in the city’s Montbello neighborhood after the discovery of two bodies.

Around 9 p.m. Tuesday, police were called to the 12200 block of East Albrook Drive, where officers discovered a body.

Around 6 a.m. Wednesday, officers obtained a search warrant and found a second body inside a residence nearby.

The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner on Thursday identified the victims as 14-year-old Xzavier Collier and 16-year-old Chaney Harris. The Denver OEM said their cause of death was from a gunshot wound and said their manner of death was homicide.

No suspect details were immediately available.

Investigators are working to develop additional information surrounding the events leading up to their deaths.
