Denver County Fair accepting walk-in contest entries on Wednesday

Fair is Aug. 1-3 at the National Western Complex

DENVER - The Denver County Fair is this weekend, but you still have time to enter multiple contests and competitions.

Walk-in entries will be accepted in dozens of categories on Wednesday, July 30.

Some of the categories include: 

  • Backyard chickens
  • Digital Art
  • Homebrew Beers
  • Painting 
  • Photography
  • Quilting
  • Peeps Diorama
  • Pie (apple, fruit and other)
  • Pickled Vegetable
  • Wine (red and white)
  • Best Tie-Dye
  • Best Homemade Bong or Pipe

Competitions are open to all Colorado residents with an in-state address. See the full list:

Twenty percent of all competition entry fees are going to local charities, including SAME Cafe, Maxfund and NORML.

Several live competitions are free to enter at the fair, 5 minutes before the posted time, including:

  • Bug eating
  • Corn Hole
  • Drag Queen Pageant
  • Graffiti
  • Human Chicken Impression
  • Karaoke
  • Pepper eating
  • Pugs vs. Chihuahua Races
  • Speed Joint Rolling
  • Speed texting
  • Rotten Sneaker Contest
  • Zombie Beauty Pageant
