DENVER – Several Denver Broncos players helped give away Thanksgiving dinner “banquets in a box” to homeless people and low-income families in Denver Tuesday morning in partnership with the Denver Rescue Mission.

The Rescue Mission says it has met its goal of receiving 15,000 turkeys to use in holiday meals, but is still accepting donations.

Several Broncos players, including Bennie Fowler, Dekoda Watson and Jordan Norwood, helped pass out the meals Tuesday.

The Rescue Mission’s Great Thanksgiving Banquet will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at the Lawrence Street Community Center.

More than 500 meals are expected to be made and passed out to homeless and low-income individuals.

The Nuggets and Avalanche are also both hosting canned food drives this week. Find more information at the Rescue Mission’s website.
