DENVER — The City of Denver is planning to add eight bikeways in 2020 and 125 miles of new bikeways over the next five years.
The first bikeways will be paid for with $18 million from the Elevate Denver Bond, approved by voters in 2017.
"Our city's transportation future must offer everyone more ways to get around using different modes, and improving mobility equity and options for every resident makes everyone's commute easier," Mayor Michael B. Hancock said. "The people of Denver overwhelmingly said 'yes' to supporting more mobility options for people to choose from to move about our city, and we are primed and ready to get moving on delivering more high comfort bikeways in neighborhoods that need more options."
There are four community meetings left to talk about the projects:
Bikeway: City Park Esplanade from 16th to 17th Avenues
