FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Yes, you can major in beer at Colorado State University!

The process of brewing beer requires knowledge and discipline. It’s a skill set that can garner success for anyone who masters it, especially in Colorado. That’s why CSU is expanding a degree program in the art of brewing beer.

The school is set to turn on two new copper-clad brewing tanks on campus, which – once in operation – will be the most sophisticated brewing system on any college campus, according to Jeff Callaway, associate director of the program.

CSU announced earlier this year the facility will feature a brewhouse donated by Molson Coors. It will be located in the lower level of the Lory Student Center.

The breweries are part of the school’sfermentation science and technology program, which offers students a bachelor degree in the science and art of fermenting foods and beverages.

The CSU program is fitting in a city known for its breweries. Fort Collins also has the distinction of being among Colorado’s top beer-producing cities.
